Why use Natural Refrigerants?

Natural refrigerants are substances that serve in refrigeration applications, unlike other synthetic refrigerants, natural refrigerants exist in the environment and are much more preferred due to sustainable benefits such as maintaining a low carbon footprint and minimal power consumption.

R600a – A natural refrigerant suitable for many industrial, commercial, and domestic cooling applications. R600a is a much-preferred refrigerant due to its low environmental impact and good thermodynamic performance.

R290 – Also known as a ‘high-power fuel’ R290 is well-suited to refrigeration applications in commercial, industrial, and domestic systems. R290 refrigerant is at least 99.5% pure and contains minimal amounts of impurities (moisture, unsaturated carbohydrates).

With zero ozone depletion potential (ODP) and very low or zero global warming potential (GWP), they are considered the definitive solution to the environmental damage caused by existing synthetic refrigerants.

Man-made refrigerant gases – commonly known as ‘Hydrofluorocarbon refrigerants’ or HFCs are bad for the environment and less economic to use, which is why we prioritised, and heavily support natural refrigerant innovation.
