The National Secondary School Culinary Challenge

This competition is specifically for those wanting to enter the industry, who are at Secondary School, and are considering a career in foodservice. Here, a team of 2 will prepare, cook and present individually plated 4 portions of entrée and 4 portions of main course within 90 minutes.

There are regional competitions throughout the country during the year, culminating in the National Final in Auckland on 12th September, where the winners of the regional competitions compete to be the overall champion.

5. Taranaki/Wanganui Regionals – Spotswood High School – New Plymouth
6. Waikato Regionals – Scared Heart Girls College – Hamilton
7. Auckland Regionals – Long Bay College - Northshore
8. Northland Regionals – Northtec Trades Academy (Which was a team made up of two schools – Tauraroa Area School & Whangarei Boys High School) – Northland
9. Canterbury Regionals – Burnside High School
